Hokay, we (simpson household) have been poking around potty time for ooohhh about six months. I know they (the evil parenting overlords) say- every child is different, they go at their own pace, yadadadadada.
I get it.
However, when it's your kid...you want a winner.
Straight to the point.
One day.
No diapers.
No turning back.
So, if you're one of those parents who said Kablam and it was done, here's your cookie. My sweet angel faced daughter is stubborn. as. hell. This is our awesome adventure that is potty training.
I did good. I looked up information, read books, asked parents. The whole shabang. The signs were THERE.
Dry after nap, knew when she was ahem going, knew what the potty was all about...it was all adding up to NO MORE DIAPERS. :) Who wouldn't jump like a girl in Neimans?! Well, this chick was on it. Avery...not so much. She was not going to sit on that potty for anything. We tried it all. We tried the song and dance. We tried stickers. We even broke and tried an assortment of the devil that is candy. (Don't forget; I'm a mean mom.)
Nothing worked.
So, I backed off the potty training...it was becoming a temper tantrum from Problem Child haha. Then, the most amazing thing miraculously happened. She sat down one day and just started going...
No jokes here kids. She just..well..went. And, SHE HASN'T STOPPED. We slapped those big girl panties on SO FAST. As of Thursday, Avery has not worn a diaper during the day.
Let's not get TOO excited. She stills wears a pull up at nap and for now a diaper at night. And, we have yet to master...the two :|
We'll save that for this week.
Don't give up moms and dads. Even the most stubborn sweet toddler will learn to use the potty. I promise.
I didn't know you had a blog!!! I have one that I never write in... :( Wy the bay, this was fun to read! :) Maybe you should pursue a career in English or something!
